
Lynn Teale - Sifu
Lynn has been studying Taiji (Ta'i Chi) since 1986. In January 1986 she began study with Dorothea Campanelli, a senior student of Master Sidney Austin.
In 1988, Lynn began the study of Yang Style Taijiquan with Master Austin.
In 1989, she was introduced to Master Jou, Tsung Hwa by Master Austin. This introduction lead to her study of Meditation, Qigong and both Yang and Chen Family Taijiquan with Master Jou at Tai Chi Farm in Warwick, NY.
She studied with Master Jou and Master Austin until 1993, continuing her studies with Master Jou until 1998.
In 1992 & 1993 Master Jou sent her to Connecticut to study Swimming Dragon Qigong with Master T.K. Shih.
In early 1998, with Master Jou’s approval and guidance, she began teaching Taiji and Qigong to the general population, all the while continuing her education with him until his tragic death on August 3rd of that same year.
After Master Jou’s death she continued her Chen studies with Master Pan, Yun-tei in Queens and has continued other studies with several teachers in a number of locations .
At present she is teaching the Yang Style Simplified (24 Posture) T’ai Chi Form as an accredited Phys Ed course at Fairleigh Dickenson University on the Florham Park Campus. She is also currently teaching the Yang Family Long Form at the Healing Path Massage Therapy Wellness Center at the foot of Schooley’s Mountain in Long Valley.
Lynn has taught classes at a number of health institutions including St. Claire's Medical Center in Denville, Hackettstown Hospital, Newton Memorial Hospital, St. Francis Health Resort, Heath Village, Sparta Health and Wellness Center, and Warren Hospital, as well as teaching T'ai Chi as part of the Massage Therapy Certification Program at Warren County College.
She reduced the number of classes she was teaching in 2006 when she accepted the job from the Tibetan Buddhist Learning Center to be the Event-Coordinator for His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s July 2008 six-day teaching on Tsong-kha-pa's “The Great Treatise on the Stages of the Path to Enlightenment" at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.
She has taught Taijiquan in Spanish and also in Signed English for the deaf and hard of hearing.
Lynn has a Taiji Referee / Judge Certification from the United States Kuo Shu Federation of Owings Mills, MD.
She has also reviewed, proofread and edited Taiji, Qigong and Meditation manuscripts and books for the YMAA Publication Center in Boston, MA.
